Jared Simmons scored a game-high 32 points, which included four three pointers. But the junior guard did more than just score as he notched 13 assists as well giving him a double-double on the night. Nick Guadarrama and Pablo Ortiz both contributed 11 points with Ortiz recording his second double-double in as many games after pulling down 13 boards. “Our bigs do a great gob,” Newington head coach Scot Wenzel said. “Pablo had a great night. He and Brett Frank did a good job of controlling the boards and containing [Josh] Williams who is a real good player.” Connor Buckley also contributed nine points to the Indians’ winning effort hitting three shots from beyond the arc.
