Boys Basketball escapes with win over Berlin

Despite the disparity in records, the Berlin Redcoats took the Newington Indians to the brink, however, the Indians prevailed in overtime. Nick Guadarrama hit two free throws with under a minute remaining to put Newington up three, and Zach Tinkham closed it out with two more to put Newington up five.

Newington’s Jared Simmons led all scorers with 20, while Berlin’s Dom Nuzzo had 12 to lead the Redcoats. Both teams finish out the season Monday, with Newington facing Northwest Catholic and Berlin against Plainville.
