Boys Basketball cruises to easy winFriday, January 6, 2017 NEWINGTON — The Newington boys basketball team used a 24-point first quarter to jump out to a big lead against Plainville on Thursday night and it didn’t look back from there as the Indians won 66-27. Matt McKinnon posted a double-double in the winning effort with 12 points and 13 rebounds while Jared Simmons had a game-high 14 points. Newington improved its record to 3-4 on the season and has now won three of its last four games. Plainville was unable to score in double figures in any quarter. Cam Clifford and Jared Demons had six points apiece which was enough to pace the Blue Devils. This is Plainville’s seventh straight loss to start the season
