Boys Basketball falls to NB after slow startTuesday, January 9, 2018 NEWINGTON - The Newington boys basketball team jumped out with an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter, leading the Hurricanes to their 65-50 win over Newington Monday night. The Hurricanes were led byIsaiah Jenkins who scored 12 points total including shooting 3-for-4 at the foul line during the last two minutes of the game. Teammates Thameen Dupree and Jafari Newman also added to the score with 11 points each. New Britain was up 31-25 by halftime and never looked back scoring 14 points in the third quarter and 20 in the fourth to finish it off. Newington was led by James Holley who added 13 points for the Indians, as well as Mason Romano and JP deCastro who both added nine. Both teams will play on Thursday. The Indians will play Northwest Catholic at 6:45 p.m. and New Britain will travel to Farmington also for 6:45 p.m.
