Boys Basketball wins in opening round of tourney

Newington 64, Rocky Hill 53: Tim Blair had 19 points and 10 rebounds while Marcus Guadarrama added 10 more boards as Newington won in the semifinals of Wethersfield’s holiday tournament and earned a date with the host Eagles Saturday.

The Indians, now 4-0, used a 26-8 second quarter to break the game open, then held off the Terriers, who tried to make it close in the second half.
