Boys Basketball adds 6th straight win

ROCKY HILL — The Newington boys basketball team qualified for the postseason with its win on Wednesday night over Rocky Hill. The Indians jumped out to a six point lead after one quarter and was able to hold on from there.

Matt McKinnon had another double-double as he dropped in 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Jared Simmons added a team-high 26 points in the winning effort. It was Newington’s sixth triumph in its last six efforts after starting off the season 1-4.

The Indians will next take the floor on Friday when they visit Bristol Eastern.
